Why we built it
Most invoicing tools are built like traditional SaaS products.
You sign up. You create a workspace. Your invoices, customers, line items, payment history, and revenue data live in someone else’s database. Then, quite often, the features you need are locked behind a paid plan.
That model makes sense for some businesses. Teams need shared access. Larger companies may need permissions, approvals, payroll, bank feeds, and deep accounting integrations.
But many independent workers do not need that.
They need something lighter, faster, and more private.
They need to create an invoice without building their business around another software account.
recevo.io is built for that use case.

The first promise is simple: open the app and start invoicing.
There is no account creation, no email requirement, no trial period, no upgrade screen, and no premium invoice limit.
You can create professional invoices with customer details, line items, tax, discounts, notes, payment terms, custom numbering, and payment tracking. You can mark invoices as paid, record payment methods, duplicate previous invoices, and export clean PDFs.

Your business data stays in your browser
The second promise is privacy.
recevo.io does not store your workspace in a central invoice database. Your invoices, quotes, customers, expenses, settings, and related business data live in your browser.
That means we are not asking you to hand over your client list, your prices, your revenue, or your invoice history just to generate a PDF.
Sensitive local data is encrypted at rest in the browser, and shared invoice or quote links are encrypted before leaving your device. When you share a document, the recipient gets a clean read-only view - not access to your workspace.
This is a different model from a normal cloud invoicing app. It is deliberately browser-first.
The honest trade-off
Local-first software has a trade-off: there is no automatic cloud sync.
If you open recevo.io on another device, you will not magically see the same workspace there. If you clear your browser data, reset your device, or remove site data, your local workspace can be deleted.
That is why recevo.io includes Backup & Restore.
You can export your data as a JSON backup and store it somewhere safe. You can also restore that backup into another browser or device when needed.
Cloud sync is convenient, but it requires a cloud database. recevo.io chooses a different model: local ownership, manual portability, and fewer people in the middle of your business data.
For independent workers who value privacy and control, that trade-off can be worth it.
More than a basic invoice template
recevo.io starts with invoicing, but it is not just a static invoice template.
You can create invoices and quotes with a proper document workflow: customers, line items, tax, discounts, notes, terms, custom statuses, payment tracking, branded PDFs, and secure sharing.
You can also track expenses, attach receipts, organise records with categories and labels, and keep an eye on your live profit and loss dashboard.

recevo.io is a Progressive Web App, which means you can install it on your device and use it more like a native app.
Once loaded, it works offline. You can create, edit, manage, and export invoices even without an internet connection.
That is especially useful if you work on-site, travel between clients, or just want a tool that does not stop working the moment your connection drops.
